The German authorities have agreed to introduce entry restrictions in more nations, adding more EU/EEA countries and regions to the list of high-risk countries, in the face of the growing number of cases of coronavirus in Europe and elsewhere in the world.
The following countries will be classified as high-risk, on the advice of the Robert Koch Institute and effective from Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 12:00 am:

'There may be a requirement to segregate persons entering the Federal Republic of Germany who have been in a danger area at any time during the last 14 days prior to entry in compliance with the respective quarantine regulations of the responsible federal states,' states the authorities in a notice announcing the decision.
At the same time, all of Italy, with the exception of the Calabria region, is now classified as high risk, and all of Austria, with the exception of the Jungholz and Mittelberg/Kleinwalsertal communities, is also considered a risk area. With the exception of these areas, travellers coming from Italy and Austria will be subject to the same restrictions as travellers mentioned above.
The German authorities have also attached several regions of other EU/EEA countries to the list of high-risk areas, as follows:
- The territory of Nordjylland in Denmark
- The West Macedonia area in Greece
- The Latgale, Riga and Vidzeme regions of Latvia
- The Lithuanian districts of Klaipéda, Marijanpolé, Telšiai and Vilnius
- The area of Centro in Portugal
- Dalarna, Halland, Kronoberg, Skåne, Västmanland and Västra Götaland Provinces in Sweden
Just one region managed to make it out of this week's high-risk list, and that is Estonia's Jogeva region.
Based on a joint review and decision by the Federal Ministry of Health, the Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Germany classifies high-risk areas every week.
Other EU countries, with their regions as a whole were added to the high-risk list as follows: Belgium (as of 30 September), Ireland (as of 24 October), Iceland (as of 30 September), Liechtenstein (as of 24 October), Malta (as of 17 October), the Netherlands (as of 17 October), Switzerland (as of 24 October), Spain (as of 2 September), with the exception of the Canary Islands (as of 24 October), the C (since October 24).
